Volvo had excellent 2016

Volvo Car Ireland has had its best sales year since 2008, with a total of 2004 cars sold during 2016, writes Brian Byrne.

In addition to the arrival of the new S90 premium saloon (above), the growth was driven by updates to the V40, XC60 and XC90 models.

Sales for 2016 were 28.3pc ahead of 2015, a performance far in advance of the over market increase of 17pc.

Volvo Ireland MD Adrian Yeates says the imminent arrival of new XC40 and XC60 vehicles will help make 2017 just as exciting a year for the brand here.
