Renault extends its electric vans

Renault has revealed two new electric LCVs, the upgraded Kangoo Van ZE and the Master ZE, writes Trish Whelan.

Debuted at the Brussels Motor Show, the Kangoo gets a new 32A charger which gives a full charge in six hours, as well as a new battery and motor that extends the range by 50pc to a rated 270km.

In a first for LCVs, it also gets a heat pump, which allows the air-conditioning to be used without cutting into the vehicle’s range.

The Kangoo ZE has been Europe’s best-selling small electric van for the past six years, and global sales totalled 23,219 units delivered to the end of June 2016.

The new Master ZE will have a rated range of 200km, and will be available in three lengths and two heights.
