Fiat Chrysler to showcase electric self-drive vehicle

This is the Fiat Chrysler Portal, a concept electric car which the carmaker will reveal at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017 in Las Vegas today, writes Brian Byrne.

The 6-passenger vehicle is based on a Chrysler Pacifica MPV and will feature all-electric power, and limited self-driving capability, with a lot of connectivity and screens to keep the passengers entertained.

The battery packs are built into the floor of the vehicle.

Fiat Chrysler is already supplying Pacifica hybrid vehicles to Google, which is using them as test cars in its autonomous driving programme.
